Jovial Planet Tarot

So the most fun part of my job is web development so this is me studying how code is used.

I've also worked with tarot for about 15 years at this point, which is probably the longest I've done any one thing.

And, I have some sort of relationship with writing. As a youngin' I liked to write essays. Not for school, but essays in the sense of wandering through a topic without a destination in mind. Fast forward I wrote a doctoral thesis in literary studies which eroded whatever natural love I had for writing, as well as reading. I've also been a prolific journaler with stacks of notebooks and a couple sheafs of typewritten lyric poems mildewing in the basement.

For awhile my attention was hijacked by the algorithm, driven to unfamiliar places and dropped in the middle of nowhere. I held my ground as a lurker and enjoyed the chat as a sort of awkward anthropologist of comment cultures, or absorbing its moods as though it were some latter day Greek chorus.

Appreciating the creativity of others is fun, but it was also covering up the feeling of my own creativity as a phantom appendage.

So here I am, flexing this little nubbin of creativity by tinkering with donated code and pilfered wallpaper patterns to fall back from the relentless stormwinds of social media that I am just not cut out for.
